Digitization - electronic identity
In the Czech Republic, in the 21st century, it is still not possible to use mobile identity documents, as is already quite common in Finland, Kosovo, the UK, the USA or Australia, for example. Mobile documents are on the rise and are becoming common practice in identifying citizens and verifying their eligibility. A mobile ID solution will be rolled out across the EU within two years. This paper will present a prototype of the eDokladovka mobile application developed by STC as a mobile ID solution in the Czech Republic. eDokladovka will be able to upload state-issued identification documents such as ID cards, driving licences, travel documents and, in the future, other documents from other entities. The citizen will be able to confirm the validity of selected attributes from the stored documents during physical interactions and will also enable electronic authentication of the citizen to the shared services of the state. STC is ready to finalize this prototype eDocument application and participate in its implementation.
