Zdeněk Říha teaches at the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University in Brno. He received his Ph.D. from the same faculty. In 1999, he spent 6 months as an intern at Ubilab, the research laboratory of UBS bank, where he worked on security and usability aspects of biometric authentication systems. From 2005 to 2008 he was seconded as a national expert to the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in Italy.
