The Invisible Shield of the Czech Republic: how the NÚKIB protects against threats in cyberspace.

Cyber and information security are crucial to the stability and prosperity of all modern states. In the Czech Republic, the National Office for Cyber and Information Security (NÚKIB) plays a leading role in these areas. The presentation by the Director of the NÚKIB will offer a comprehensive view of the wide range of activities of this office - from international cooperation and exchange of experience to the development of the regulatory framework (including the transposition of the NIS2 Directive) to the protection of strategic infrastructure, security of satellite services and cryptography. How does the NÚKIB obtain and analyse information? How does it detect new threats and what strategic steps does it take to strengthen the Czech Republic's cyber resilience? The presentation will offer answers to all these questions and will outline the specific steps the NÚKIB is taking to protect the state in today's connected and digitized world. 

 Lukáš Kintr

Lukáš Kintr is the Director of the National Office for Cyber and Information Security (NÚKIB) as of 1 July 2022. He graduated in Management Informatics and Information Management at Brno University of Technology and during his studies he has been trying to develop his knowledge and skills in the field of cyber security. Since 2015, he has worked at the National Security Office (NBÚ) as a cybersecurity auditor in the National Cyber Security Centre (NCKB). Following the spin-off of NCKB and the creation of NÚKIB, he served as the Chief of the Audit Division and, as of September 2019, the Deputy Director of NÚKIB for NCKB Management. In this role, he was responsible for cybersecurity assurance and enforcement strategy in the Czech Republic, government CERT activities, negotiating and collaborating with national and international partners, and conducting cybersecurity exercises.
